  • :: my little dancer 💫 she really loves her music and a good boogie, no matter where she is. It’s become a habit for us to have a family dance party before bathtime – there’s lots of spinning, stomping and waving our arms in the air (all initiated by Emilia) ...and it’s absolutely the best therapy for us right now 🙌🏼💛 . #emiliahannarose

Dipping my toes back in the water with this beautiful facade from a past adventure around Rye 🌿 Maybe this will serve as a welcome distraction and inspiration for you too. .   • :: trying to fill my days with deep breaths, limiting my time online to escape the general overwhelm, moments in nature (even if it is just our garden - I’ve never been more grateful for that beautiful space), creativity and as many snuggles as possible with my girl. . Emilia is having a rotten time with teething and has definitely been picking up on my anxiety. So holding her a little closer these days seems to be helping us both 🌿❤️ . Sending you all a little extra love and hope you’re managing to find some moments of calm too.
  • :: happy International Women’s Day 💛 - I’ve been reflecting a lot about what this day means to me, so these are only a few of my thoughts... . Growing up in a family of so many girls (my beautiful, kind and strong mama raised 6 strong women and I have 8 wonderful nieces) to now raising my own daughter, I really feel like I’ve come so far in experiencing, understanding and appreciating what an incredible force for good these women in my life have been – and continue to be 💫 . #emiliahannarose
  • :: the magical glow of slow, simple days like these ✨❤️ . On another note, has anyone else experienced spells of insomnia? I’m certain mine is largely due to hormonal changes as we adjust to a new breastfeeding pattern along with general anxiety, but oh my 😴 two weeks in and this experience of sleep deprivation and broken sleep feels akin to the early days of motherhood with a newborn baby... only the reality is I’m running on empty whilst running around after/with my 18 month old. . The plus side is, I’ve used this extra awake time to organise our two huge built-in wardrobes, finally (8 months later) disassembled and packed away the bedside crib and have even been trying my hand at selling on Facebook marketplace in an attempt to declutter and rehome some unloved items. 🙌🏼 Goodnight, friends! . #emiliahannarose
  • :: it looks as though we have another wet and windy weekend ahead. I’m distracting myself from the weather by refining my list of intentions for our family this spring/summer. Top on my lists are trips to the Norfolk coast, Oxford, Kew Gardens and another visit to Stourhead (where this lovely glasshouse detail-shot was taken), plus some seasonal activities such as strawberry picking, lavender fields and somewhere beautiful to capture the arrival of spring and/or summer blooms... . I’ve found taking the time to make a list like this has been a really great way to prioritise intentions, focus on what’s important and help create some wonderful memories for our family without feeling overwhelmed by all the possible choices there are! It takes the pressure off, meaning that every weekend doesn’t need to be jam-packed full of things to do (or induce any last-minute panic that there are no ‘plans’) and we can simply enjoy, appreciate and cherish those all so important slower weekends together too without any guilt. Who else can relate to those feelings? Do you plan ahead for the season? – would love to hear what you have in mind 😊🌿

  • :: this little girl is obsessed with books! It’s often the first thing she says when she wakes up in the morning or from her naps, excitedly shouting “book!... book-ahh... booksss!” while pointing eagerly at her collection in the corner of her bedroom. Take her to the library, and well, she’ll dive straight in on her quest to find a keeper. She also loves joining other mama’s with their little-ones during their story-time (and sometimes tries to sweetly, but prematurely turn the pages for them) ☺️📚🐛 Her favourites are definitely those with a more punchy rhythm or musical books – oh and she’ll happily peruse many a flip-flap book on her own for a good half hour! . She’s increasingly interested in my stash of books on my bedside table too – though these aren’t nearly as fascinating as her own and usually end up abandoned. I was very tempted to treat Emilia (and myself, let’s be honest) to ‘The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse’ over the weekend; the illustrations are exquisite and it reminded me how I have yet to introduce Emilia to any Winnie-the-Pooh books (my childhood fave)! 🍯🐻 . I’d love to hear which books were your favourite to read as a child and/or what did your littles enjoy reading at around 18 months? We’re in need of more variety and you always have the best inspiration 🧡 . #emiliahannarose
