  • :: I think a little bit of magic is very much needed today ✨ wishing you a beautiful evening with those you love, friends x
  • :: calm Sunday scenes 💫
  • ad :: Autumn 🍃🍂 you are my favourite season for the magical light, unexpectedly glorious sunsets and the abundance of beautiful woodland walks with my littlest love.
.
We bought Emilia her first pair of wellies a couple of weeks back, hoping to take advantage of the rainy forecast and her love for exploring... but it’s only this past weekend that she has really found her confidence in walking in them! Before this point she would just stand rooted to the spot – an unusual sight for this little athlete of ours.
.
Here she is, on a brief break from running through all the crunchy autumn leaves and sweeping a pathway clear of them with the biggest stick she could carry 😍 we’re looking up at the leaves falling from their branches and pointing at the birds high above singing in the treetops – finding so much joy in these new discoveries for Emilia ❤️
.
My bag was generously gifted by @josefinabags and I couldn’t be more grateful. I chose one of their beautiful backpacks from their stunning collection and it has become such a blessing on our days out – I’ve learnt that I definitely need both my hands free while out and about with Emilia 🤗
  • :: a sweet scene from Emilia’s nursery. To think she was once small enough to dress on top of this chest of drawers in her little changing basket 💛 Now it’s a place to display some of her pretty trinkets and toys 💫
  • :: we ventured out for a beautiful autumnal wander today with the aim of capturing a few more family photos amongst the changing golden leaves. Emilia had other ideas though and napped for almost the entire walk... but not without me having to go on a pretty speedy stomp through the woods first to help her to drift off to sleep in her pushchair🏃🏻‍♀️ Not quite the relaxing walk I was hoping for but it was nonetheless a tonic to be outdoors breathing in that crisp, fresh November air.
.
So instead, here’s a lovely photo of us from a few weekends ago 🍂🍁✨ did you have a good weekend?

  • [ features gifted items ] :: finally getting round to finishing Emilia’s memory box! I purchased a personalised box just before Emilia’s First Birthday (as a birthday box to pop a few extra special little gifts in each year) and so I knew this engraved memory box very kindly gifted by @fredandrobin (who create the most beautifully whimsical pieces) would be perfect for the job of keeping all Emilia’s very first mementoes safe. We were also gifted one of these darling little robin clothes hanger, personalised with Emilia’s name – which is currently being used to display one of Emilia’s first summer rompers 🧡
.
Up until this point I had kept all of these special items in a cardboard box; the first knitted hat she wore moments after birth, hospital bands, her first sleepsuit, going home outfit, hand/footprints, first rattle, shoes (the list goes on ☺️) – even a teeny tiny nappy! Oh and yes, I even boxed up the stump of her umbilical cord.
.
I’ve always been hugely sentimental and have a small collection of mementoes from almost every phase of my life growing up. Sadly, my mum didn’t keep many items from my baby years other than photos, so I think this is why I love saving these little treasures, for myself but especially for Emilia. Whenever I look at these items, they always bring back such special feelings and memories that I wonder would they have been forgotten without these keepsakes to link them...
.
I’ll also be popping in some copies of ultrasound scans, her monthly milestone photos and ‘one second everyday’ video from her first year and I would love to somehow save the sound of her heartbeat from one of our midwife appointments onto a little tape ❤️
.
What special keepsakes do you have from your baby years and did this affect how you chose to document this fleeting time for yourself and your children? ✨
  • :: one from our day at the pumpkin patch a couple of weekends ago. Emilia enjoyed running across the very muddy field (without wellies on I should add) and I enjoyed picking out my first ever pumpkins, including a few beautiful little grey and white varieties. Emilia was especially keen on this tiny gourd during her quick scope of the field (it looked a lot like one of her favourite fruits, a pear) and couldn’t be dissuaded from taking a few bites... 🙊
.
Really embracing all these opportunities for family traditions. Have a happy All Hallows’ eve! 🧡🎃
  • :: spending my Wednesday evening cosy on the sofa with a hot chocolate (I’ve been a little obsessed lately), while bookmarking some new recipes, meal planning for next week and placing the online food shop...
.
It’s taken me a while to get the hang of our dairy free diet due to Emilia’s allergies (and we’ve also embraced a much more plant based diet) but I’m finally feeling organised and really enjoying cooking again! This past week has been all about simple autumnal soups – and the tortellini drop soup from Little Green Kitchen (@gkstories) is delicious if you’re looking for some midweek inspiration 🧡 but now I’m craving something heartier, a homemade curry is the plan for Friday.
.
Would love to know your favourite family recipes for this cosier season and your go-to cookbooks too 🍂🍁✨
.
Beautiful bag previously gifted by @wolfieandwillow, has swiftly become the loveliest addition to my autumn wardrobe.
